Barcelona-based Jor Ros revisits his take on the mythical Japanese fox with the Kitsune Mask (Kurayami Edition) vinyl / polystone art toy from Mighty Jaxx. Kurayami features a deep navy blue and orange design following the OG white and red colorway.
The Kitsune mask has appeared in the artist’s work which often features characters wearing various masks. The vinyl mask design bears Ros’ recurring NOPE mark, a reference to the Numbered Operative Program: Enforcer alliance of cyborg protectors, and incorporates a pipe held between the teeth which ties cleverly into the polystone base. The smoke-themed base is designed to hold the mask on a flat surface such as a table or to mount it to a wall. In both cases, the billowing smoke seems to flow out of the pipe.
An edition of 300, the Kitsune Mask (Kurayami Edition) vinyl art toy (11″ w/base) will be available for preorder on Saturday (5.7) @ 6 AM PDT from Mighty Jaxx for $199 with shipping expected in September 2022.
