With cupid just over the horizon, 8PM and Plastic Empire have a new subtly themed edition of the popular half kraken, half ghoul. The Megacon Exclusive Jimmy ‘Plastic Love’ Edition is the fifth colorway following the OG Mint, Devil, Volt and Toxic Citrus Colors.
While timed for Valentine’s, the design keeps things fairly low key with pleasing pastel pink details (tentacles, collar bone, shoes) on the black/white figure. The only obvious nod to the theme are the two hearts: larger black one on the forehead and a smallish pink one next to Jimmy’s drool on his chin. In fact, this might be the first edition to have additional paint deco. Beyond the specific of this edition, Jimmy is a striking figure — a hip undead character with the most unexpected feature: (kraken) tentacles. The tentacles for arms and spine plus the floating rib cage make this a standout design.
An edition of 199, the Jimmy ‘Plastic Love’ Edition vinyl art toy (8″) will debut from Plastic Empire’s booth (#364) at Megacon Orlando (2.1 – 2.4) for $69.
