With David Flores’ new Bored Again vinyl art toy with ProtoHype Studios, the artist known globally for his signature mosaic aesthetic reflects upon ‘boredom’ with perhaps an eye on…reflection. Debuting in a chill teal + blue colorway, the figure features a lotus flower hybrid cartoon character in a seated pose, legs crossed and hands supporting its petals.
The large, blooming lotus flower that serves as the character’s head is the focal point here with the familiar cartoon body completing the concept. The individual sculpted petals of the spiritual flower make full use of the 3D medium in a way that is sure to bring a smile to those that appreciate joyful, engaging designs. The refreshing new figure is an extension of Flores’ previous popular figures from the iconic cartoon body to the familiar blue-hued color combo. An edition of 100, the Bored Again vinyl art toy (8″) will be available for preorder on Friday, February 9th, 2024 at 12:30 PM PST via NTWRK in a special NTWRK Bundle ($200) that includes a 12″ die-cut acrylic giclee print of the lotus. The drop will also feature a separate, larger 18″ die-cut print ($100). The figure is expected to ship in Q2 2024.
