James Groman revisits H.P. Lovecraft’s iconic Great Old One. with the new Cthulhu (Cinder Red) incense chamber from Mighty Jaxx. Known for all manner of monsters, Groman’s Cthulhu emphasizes the alien’s dragon and octopus-like features with wings larger than many renditions and the iconic tentacles dangling from its face. Groman’s stylistic interpretation extends to the eyes. While many versions have two bulging eyes, he hangs ten — six up front and four in the back. Finally, the pose and multiple small horns lends the design a loose resemblance to the gargoyle. The new incense chamber is Groman’s latest interpretation of Cthulhu following a recent series of ‘sofubi’ vinyl figures.
An edition of 100, the Cthulhu (Cinder Red) incense chamber (11″) will be available for pre-order on Saturday (8.26) at 6 AM PDT from Mighty Jaxx for $299 and is slated to ship in January 2024.
