Fools Paradise tunes up its mashup wizardry with the new Mushroom Trooper vinyl art toy set. While many of the brand’s recent releases have focused primarily on a single pop-culture franchise, the kawaii Mushroom Trooper set blends the shocking, gut-wrenching Squid Game series with the iconic Mario Bros game franchise. Here we have Toad (or his closes) all dressed up as the ubiquitous, faceless guards in the do-or-die game for the grand (and only) prize — 4.5 billion Won. In a slight twist, the trio dons red (rather than pink) guard suits, with the three different symbols on the helmet rather than the face mask —perhaps a nod to Toad’s traditional red-dot design.
The Mushroom Trooper vinyl art toy set is available for pre-order from Fools Paradise for $145 (global shipping included) and is slated to ship in December 2023.
