Fools Paradise’s futuristic gridiron league has added a major franchise to its roster with the debut of the first officially-licensed Transformers player. That’s right, Mr. Autobot is ready to rumble with the League of Steel – Optimus Prime vinyl art toy. A collaboration with Hasbro, the new design blends Fools Paradise’s signature Low Fool style with the iconic Autobot leader. The heroic player is literally suited up in Optimus Prime gear from his helmet and shoulder pads to his leg protection. And yes, it sounds as if this is the first of many League of Steel x Transformers figures.
Having an officially-licensed ‘team’ in the League of Steel isn’t totally unexpected since Fools Paradise has been mixing the occasional officially-licensed figure into its large catalog of pop-culture mashup releases. That said, seeing Transformers players lining up against ‘homage’ Evangelion or Gundam tributes in the same series is a bit jarring. That said, bring on more of team Transformers.
The League of Steel – Optimus Prime vinyl art toy (16.14″) is available for pre-order from Fools Paradise for $430 (worldwide shipping included) and is slated to ship in November of 2023.
