It’s with a heavy and thankful heart that we say goodbye to Frank Kozik who passed away suddenly last Saturday. A true art pioneer, Frank was a force in the gig poster scene and turned the toy world upside down with some of the earliest vinyl art toys produced (including his Bone Bunny with Bounty Hunter). His signature Labbit with its instantly-recognizable design earned him a legion of toy fans worldwide. His Mao (‘Bird is the Word’) and other busts brought his fine art to the art toy scene.
Frank was a one-of-a-kind artist and personality, a pioneer and outspoken supporter of artists. He relentlessly followed his own path and encouraged others to build their own artistic brands. The word of art and toys feels smaller with his passing. You’ll be missed Frank.
