Koncrete for ToyCon UK 2023

Previous Next

UK artist Koncrete’s art toys have a perceptible sense of gravitas — an unnerving presence of a weighty past and present with an uncertain future. His human characters’ expressions range from subdued to downtrodden and melancholy. For ToyCon UK 2023 he’s set to release a large number of resin art toys including at least two editions, several one-offs of his recurring characters in varied color combinations and two prototypes.

The editions include Tank Girl (4 pcs, £250) and So Long and Goodnight (6 pcs, £180) in black on black editions. Koncrete has also teased a collaboration with Jon Paul Kaiser that appears to be a low-run rather than a one-off.

We’ll group the one-offs by colorways. Featuring a pastel blue and pink color combo, the Wild Heart figures include the bunny-eared We Need to Talk about Kevin, So Long and Goodnight and the face mask-wearing God Knows we’re Lonely Souls. Tank Girl, So Long and Goodnight and We Need to Talk about Kevin, will be available in a drab olive green + muted orange pairing. Both Tank Girl and God Knows We’re Lonely Souls will be available in a tan colorway with playful child-like doodles throughout. Rounding out the one-offs is the Brightburn version of God Knows We’re Lonely Souls featuring a burnt red + white pairing.

Koncrete will also showcase not-for-sale prototypes including The Blackout version of God Knows We’re Lonely Souls (Prototype 14) and the sublime Breathe prototype featuring a child with a nest of birds tucked into the front of his hoodie, yearning for fresh air.

Find Koncrete’s art toys at his ToyCon UK booth [#42]. Don’t be surprised to see a one or two unmentioned drops as well given the nature of indie toy promo.
