ADi’s (Adi Brierley) signature False Idols series makes the jump from micro-run handcrafted wood pieces to production vinyl art toy series from Streams. The series features stylized, minimalist takes on popular cartoon characters. Instantly recognizable, the designs offer a new, clever perspective on characters we’ve seen countless times.
The new False Idols vinyl+ABS series debuts with two figures – SB21 and AB21. Drawn from under the sea and atomic anime, each figure features a block body with stylized, exaggerated facial elements. AB21’s extra-long legs and SB21’s expected four legs add a welcome change-up from the characters we’ve grown up on.
Editions of 500, the False Idols—SB21 (9.84″, $115) and AB21 (10.04″, $75)— vinyl+ABS art toys are available for preorder from Streams with an expected ship date sometime in Q3 2023.
