First seen at DesignerCon 2022 and then at a pop-up event in Hong Kong, ToyQube has collaborated with automotive-forward lifestyle brand DPLS on a special Astro Boy project featuring a customized teal RWB Porsche 911 sporting an officially licensed design of Osamu Tezuka’s iconic manga character. The collaboration also features a series of DPLS Astro Boy Hoodie vinyl art toys inspired by the car.
Following the Team Blue & Team Red editions, ToyQube is set for the online drop of the Team Teal and Pink (Sakura) editions which initially launched at the HK event. Each features a DPLS-branded jacket with patches on the sleeve and ‘Astro Boy’ emblazoned in dynamic text on the rear. As a souvenir of the collaboration, ToyQube has also produced a diecast car in each of the four colorways.
The DPLS Astro Boy Hoodie – Pink and Teal vinyl art toys (10″, $185) and diecast cars (1:64 scale, $40) will be available on Thursday (1.26) @ 12 PM PST from ToyQube.
