As part of the launch of its brand-new NYC retail location, Superplastic launched a new collection with SSUR anchored by the Sanctuary Red vinyl art toy. Designed by the fearless Ruslan Karablin, the new 15″ figure considers our changing values and priorities with a crucified Mickey design—referred to as ‘Murder Pants’ in Superplastic’s lore.
The minimalist approach references the crucifixion with subtlety. While there’s no cross, Murder Pants bears a crown of thorns and apparent nails. Less is more in this case.
An edition of 666, the Sanctuary Red vinyl art toy (15.5″) is available for pre-order from Superplastic for $150 and is slated to ship sometime in August 2022. The new SSUR x Superplastic collection also includes apparel (tees and hoodies)
