‘Detached’ Light Sculpture by Louis De Guzman

Previous Next

Chicago-base Filipino artist Louis De Guzman’s new Detached light sculpture is an illuminating expression of controlling one’s chaos. Part of the artist’s Between the Lines body of work, the piece features an illuminated orb (lamp) just above two open, outstretched hands.

Flowing out of De Guzman’s signature geometric abstraction aesthetic, colorful shard fragments surround the orb which features etched grooves. Empowering the owner, the sculpture’s light’s color can be changed via a remote which allows for a seamless, uncluttered design of the piece itself.

An edition of 500, the Detached light sculpture (11″, PVC + Metal) will be available on Saturday (8.13) at 5 PM PDT from the NTWRK app for $450. De Guzman’s previous work includes sculptures of Bugs Bunny and Astro Boy as well as the SpongeBob SquarePants vinyl figures with J. Balvin.
