Following his popular blister-as-prison series, Luke Chueh continues his exploration of the wild, wonderful world of art action figures (‘bootlegs’ isn’t PC anymore) with two very different SDCC 2022 releases from the DKE Toys booth.
First up is Luke like you’ve never seen him before with the unexpected Luke from the Bible resin action figure. Yes, the Holy Chueh is here to spread the gospel of his bear. A signed/numbered edition of 75, the figure will be available for $80.
And for those looking for something just a bit more edgy, Luke has collaborated with Ghanian artist Magasco on the Bear Wars release. Bear Wars pairs Magasco’s one-of-a-kind 12×9 painted panels with a lavender, chunky version of Chueh’s bear. Each painting pits the bear against a different cinematic foe drawn from films such as The Matrix, Gremlins, Rocky and more. An edition of 40, each signed/numbered piece will be available for $200.
Both Luke Chueh figures will be available for as part of DKE Toys’ SDCC releases—first as part of its online preview on Friday, July 15, 2002 at 12 PM PDT and then at SDCC (7.20 – 7.24) from the DKE Toys booth (#2643).
