As things start to open back up, it’s time to explore new routes and towns with the upcoming Road Trip resin art toy sculpture by Joe Ledbetter. First shown as an unpainted prototype at DesignerCon 2019, the colorful first edition is speeding towards collectors with a whimsical design. The motley foursome heads off for adventure on a vespa with a lean and mean gator doing the driving, an elephant enjoying a morning coffee, a rhino looking back at the road travelled, and Mr. Bunny pointing ever forward.
As with the artist’s previous Wolfgang figure, Road Trip seems to draw inspiration from old-school cartoons. The dynamic sculpt conveys the sense of motion with the poses of each character and the dust cloud filled with motion lines and stars flowing right out of classic Saturday morning fare. Road Trip was brought to life by sculptor Dave Bondi with production overseen by Bigshot Toyworks.
An edition of 100, the Road Trip resin art toy sculpture (16″) will be available on Tuesday, May 10th, 2022 at 9 AM PDT from Joe Ledbetter’s online store for $450 (worldwide shipping included).
