Brooklyn-based Stickymonger brings her manga aesthetic to Netflix’s Squid Game series with her take on the iconic guards in the world’s most twisted ‘game’. The figure features a previously unseen female guard, kneeling down as she adds some art to the world. The triangle-branded face mask—with ‘Stickymonger’ on the interior—can be removed to reveal the guard’s polka dot hair—one of the artist’s common motif. The design is similar to the artist’s large spray- painting sculptures featured in her Lonesome Planet solo show (2020).
A signed/numbered edition of 140, the Squid Game Guard mixed-media art toy (9.8″) will be available for pre-order on Wednesday (5.11) @ 8 PM PDT for HK$6,670 (~$850).
