NYC-born kaNO’s new Pop Off exhibition opens on Thursday (5.19) at Art Whino’s new mixed-use gallery/restaurnt space in Arlington, Virginia. Blending his urban aesthetic with Pop Art, kaNO has created five new paintings including a series of four self-portraits in varying color treatments, a hallmark of Andy Warhol’s work.

The showcase painting, Maribel Manroe, pays homage to the late Andy Warhol’s Shot Stage Blue Marilyn which recently sold at auction for a record-breaking 195 million dollars. As a complement to the five new pieces, the show will also feature five pieces from the artist’s archive. kaNO will be in the house for the opening.
