A huge crowd of collectors formed an epic line that wrapped around the block for Toy Tokyo’s signing event with voice actor Christopher Sabat on Saturday (4.2). While Sabat is best known for voicing Dragon Ball Z’s Vegeta he also plays over three dozen DBZ characters including Yamcha, Piccolo and Shenron. As you might expect, Sabat signed a seemingly endless wave of prized DBZ Funko Pop! vinyl figures brought by fans including numerous Vegeta editions plus other characters including the fearsome dragon Shenron. The remarkable turnout for this event is a great sign as we all continue to welcome back the irreplaceable excitement of in-person events.
While the massive turnout might normally cause anxiety for those at the end of the line, Toy Tokyo reassured fans that the event would run until ‘the last fan standing.’ This collector friendly approach is a part of what has made Lev Levarek’s celebrated NYC toy store an institution with over twenty years of must-have releases, first-class events and innovative partnerships.
