Strawberry BangBang by Stickymonger

Stickymonger (Joohee Park) brings her charming yet enigmatic paintings to life with her Strawberry BangBang polystone sculpture in collaboration with K11 Musea in Hong Kong, site of the artist’s ongoing strawberry-themed installation. Based on the installation’s shaped painting, the eye-catching piece features a neatly dressed girl relaxing on her three-wheel strawberry car. The sculpture flows out of the artist’s work inspired by her ‘fear’ of strawberries as a creepy fruit.

The unusual concept draws viewers into the girl’s world with a sense of curiosity. The sculpture is whimsical and graceful, a captivating combination complemented by strong technical execution.

Strawberry BangBang’s sculpt blends subtle, soft details including the girl’s features and the ruffles on her dress with more precise, mechanical details including the strawberry-head gear shifter and wheels. The paint application is spot-on from solid colors to a realistic metal effect on the ‘car’.

The Strawberry BangBang polystone sculpture (14.96″) is available (30 pieces) via online lottery from the K11 DesignStore for HK$7,100 (~$908). Entries will be accepted through Sunday (3.26) at 9 PM PDT. Collectors can earn one additional bonus entry by purchasing the Stickymonger Strawberry Crystal Ball set (HK$1,596/~$204).
