Kidrobot celebrates Sir Elton John’s memorable role and cover in the Tommy movie (1975) with the new Pinball Wizard resin art toy. Inspired by the singer’s flamboyant, over-the-top outfit he wore while performing The Who’s classic hit song.
In the translation from film to toy, the singer’s appearance as the Pinball Wizard has been re-imagined to focus on Elton John by refactoring his exaggerated proportions. His long, stilt-like legs from the film have been ‘normal’ sized while his Doc Marten-style shoes have been transformed with oversized, cartoonish proportions. These changes capture the spirit of Elton John’s performance within Kidrobot’s customary designer toy aesthetic.
The Pinball Wizard resin art toy (8″) is available for preorder from Kidrobot for $74.99. Part of Kidrobot’s growing Elton John collection, the figure is expected to ship in Q4 2022.
