Steven Harrington brings his laid-back yet energetic aesthetic to the world’s most famous mouse with the new Mickey Harrington plush art toy in collaboration with Disney and Apportfolio. At nearly 36″ tall, the palm tree-loving take on Mickey Mouse is head-turning canvas for Harrington’s design which incorporates a collage of different all-over print designs in different sections of the toy. Along with familiar textures and motifs (palm trees and ying yang symbol), the color palette flows directly out of the artist’s numerous paintings and works.
As seen in the closeups, the plush art toy appears to stand on its own suggesting some sort of structure within. As seen in the closeups in the gallery, the fabric itself has a corduroy-style texture giving it an elevated feel.
An edition of 500, the Mickey Harrington art toy plus (35.43″) will be available on Friday (3.25) at 7 AM PDT from Apportfolio for HK$7,580 (~$969).
