Unbox Industries continues its homage to Shinya Tsukamoto’s 1989 cyberpunk body horror film, Tetsuo: The Iron Man, with a new edition of the eponymous vinyl toy. Following the sold-out OG edition, the Indigo Iron features a deep blue – gray colorway of the figure featuring the film’s salaryman character, Tetsuo, in the midst of his horrific transformation from human to Iron Man (鉄男).
The intricately detailed, visceral design was created by Takashi Oda, a longtime SFX collaborator with the film’s director and the Splatterhouse video game character designer. The figure includes a transformed ‘drill’ accessory that can be held or fitted onto Tetsuo’s body in the anatomically correct position.
The Tetsuo: The Iron Man – Indigo Iron soft vinyl art toy (10″) will be available as a 24-hr preorder beginning on Saturday (2.19) at 7 AM PDT from Unbox Industries for $95. The figure is expected to ship in May 2022.
