‘Memories’ by Eimi Takano Opens at Woot Bear

Previous Next

San Francisco-based Woot Bear will present Japanese artist Eimi Takano’s new Memories solo with an opening on Saturday (2.26). The show focuses on a collection of original plush toy sculptures. The furry friends include the familiar such as bears, cats and rabbits as well as slightly more unusual ones including ducks and two of Takano’s food-based characters: an apple and a strawberry. With the choice of fabrics and soft pastel colors, many of the pieces have a nostalgic appeal.

In addition to the original, handmade pieces the show also features two production editions including the Toast-chan plushie (8″, $25) and the Shuntaro sofubi art toys (3.8″, $45) in both pink and purple colorways.

Eimi Takano’s Memories solo exhibition opens at Woot Bear in San Francisco on Saturday (2.26) from 6 to 8 PM PST. Art from the show will also be available for purchase online beginning at 6 PM.
