Taiwanese street artist SONG’s signature rhino beetle kid returns with the new Takumashi Syonen Black Tears and NoseBleed resin art toys produced by 1982 Kids. BlackTears is a black-on-black colorway with white tears while NoseBleed features black beetle armor/suit, ‘flesh’ skin, white tears and blood dripping from the nose.
The dramatic Takumashi Syonen (‘strong boy’) figure features the child geared up as a fierce rhino beetle with a bug net in hand. The rear of the figure features wings in the shape of an ominous face. The wings slide open to reveal a detailed pattern beneath.
Featured in SONG’s murals, the character represents the need for toughness to overcomes obstacles and problems while growing up. The figure comes on a circular base inscribed with the character’s name in Japanese (front) and English (rear).
The Takumashi Syonen Black Tears and Nosebleed resin art toys (5.91″) are available for pre-order from 1982 Kids for NT$6,000 ($217) each. Collectors in Taiwan can purchase via the official order form. Overseas customers should DM 1982Kids to purchase. The figures are scheduled to ship in Q2 2022.
