Fools Paradise has done it again. The latest version in their Super series casts the immediately recognizable 8-bit characters from Super Mario Brothers in the key roles from the unforgettable Squid Game TV series that quite literally had the whole world captivated.
The Fools Paradise reimagining of the show recreates the infamous Red Light, Green Light scene from the first game with Mario cast as 456, held back by none other than Blooper, one of the squids from the video game. Princess Peach takes over for Younghee, the creepy robot driving the game. Unlike most Fools Paradise toys, Younghee’s head is articulated, all the better to recreate the scene. Finally, does double guard duty as both the circle and triangle baddies. This fun mashup takes on Fools proportions with Princess standing in at 20.47″, Mario (officially: ‘Leon’) at 12.6″, and both guards at 7.09″.
An edition capped at 499 made-to-order sets, the Super Game vinyl art toy set is available for pre-order from Fools Paradise for $538 (worldwide shipping included). The set is expected to ship in Q4 of 2022.
