‘Generative Electronic Museum of Metaverse Art’ NFTs by Tristan Eaton

Previous Next

Tristan Eaton continues to push his art into the exciting, dizzying metaverse with his upcoming Generative Electronic Museum of Metaverse Art (G.E.M.M.A.) NFT project. As the name suggests, the ambitious project features unique NFT art works generated by a bespoke algorithm. The algorithm layers individual elements created by the artist over a base grayscale portrait. The process is similar to that used by Eaton to create his original, physical paintings: starting with a base image and then selecting fragmented elements of text, imagery and symbols to layer on top to create a cohesive collage.

All in all, the G.E.M.M.A. project features five thousand unique NFTs, each one generated from elements created by Tristan Eaton. The images in the gallery (above) offer a brief glimpse at the complexity and variety of the pieces in the collection. Beyond the impressive set of collage pieces in use, there are also key structural differences at play from the ventilator mask to the skull face.

For every painting I make, I normally start with the simple portrait. I then assemble a giant pile of visuals into layered, story telling collages. From this stage, the painting can go in a million different directions. In real life, I will only see one of these many possibilities realized into a final work of art. The result is the equivalent of a painted puzzle, with each image, color and collage element doing it’s work to create a unique, one of a kind composition. With G.E.M.M.A., I can now see what happens when those thousands of other possibilities are realized. It’s like witnessing a multiverse for paintings. This project will live on for a long time with many surprises and bonuses for those who join the Generative Electronic Museum of Metaverse Art!” – Tristan Eaton

In addition to offering collectors a chance to acquire a unique 1/1 NFT, the project also brings additional benefits to G.E.M.M.A. holders. Bridging the gap between digital and physical, collectors will be able to participate in a quarterly Bonfire event to exchange (‘burn’) their NFT for a signed 24″ x 24″ digital print of their exact image. Beyond the flexibility to the collector, this also increases the rarity of the NFTs over time as they are burned/destroyed to create physical prints. Additionally, one holder will receive the original 60″ x 60″ base painting created by Eaton for the project. Eaton will customize the piece with hand spray painted traits matching the winning NFT. In addition, holding a G.E.M.M.A. NFT will provide special access to previews, sneaks, pre-orders and giveways for Tristan Eaton’s digital and physical art work. To learn more about the project, interested collectors can join Tristan Eaton’s growing Discord community.

Tristan Eaton’s 5000 G.E.M.M.A. NFTs will be available on Wednesday (1.12) at 4PM PST for .1 ETH each ($307 as of this posting) directly from the G.E.M.M.A. platform site.
