UK artist Whatshisname has released elevated, electroplated chrome editions of his POPek mini balloon dog resin art toys in two different poses. The POPek Mini – Chrome Red Edition (4.72″ tall) features the artist’s signature pooping balloon dog in a red chrome finish. With its eyes on the ball, the Happy POPek Mini – Chrome Gold Edition (4.72″ long) is a fun, playful counterpart in chrome. If the inspiration and target of the irreverent POPek figures wasn’t clear, the shiny chrome finishes flaunt the comparison.
Signed and numbered editions of 200, both POPek Mini Chrome Edition resin art toys are available from the artist’s Soho Art site for £250 each ($344). Each figure includes a Certificate of Authenticity and a handsome black box with gold lettering. Due to a time-consuming, low-yield production process, only 70 of the Red and 90 of the Gold chrome editions were included in this first release.
