Known for his balloon dog sculptures including POPek, a pooping balloon dog, UK artist Whatshisname released his first anthropomorphic version last year in the form of Jeff Balloonski (2020)—named after a certain famous modern artist. Now comes the follow-up in the form of the Jeff Junior polyresin sculpture.
Where Jeff Balloonski reflected the flair of the artist that inspired it, Jeff Junior brings a casual change of pace. Wearing a hoodie, Junior blends into nearly any cityscape. Perhaps Whatshisname’s first urban art toy sculpture, Jeff Junior is a fun new take on his long-running balloon dog series.
The Jeff Junior polyresin sculptures will be offered via early release exclusively to the artist’s mailing list members on Wednesday (4.14) at 7 AM PDT in two sizes in both Pink and Red versions. The 30 cm size (11.81″) is limited to 33 pieces of each color while the 12 cm size (4.72″) is limited to 99 pieces in each color. Pricing will be revealed with the release email on Wednesday morning.
