JPX has teamed up with Milkboytoys on the next chapter of the popular IT Bear series. Drawn with a definite ‘toon vibe, the IT Bear the animated series debuts with two releases: Pink IT Bear with Lolipop Hammer and Blue Mr. Wise with Hot Dog Gun. While the original IT Bear featured a bear head which could be removed to reveal a scary clown underneath, the bear suit concept seems to have been replaced with two figures, one of a bear and one of a clown.
The fun designs feature a slightly lighter mood than the original figure while still retaining their creepy-cute edge. In fact, the Pink IT Bear and the Blue Mr. Wise present a relatively friendly front while keeping the naughty behind their backs, playing off a common cartoon concept. A mysterious eye can be seen on the back of both figures, just above the slightly pulled-down zipper on the bear suit. Mr. Wise goes one step further with a skeletal hand poking out from the back of his head. Each character’s over-the-top carnival food-inspired weapons ensure smiles from everyone—at least until they get a glimpse at the harrowing back designs.
The IT Bear the animated vinyl art toys will be available via lottery from JPX beginning on Friday (3.19) at 9 PM PDT and running through Saturday (3.20) at 4 AM PDT. Each figure will retail for 7500 thb ($244). To enter the lottery, visit the JPX FB page and fill out the google form that will be available once the lottery has begun. There will be two separate forms, one for the Pink IT Bear and one for Blue Mr. Wise. Collectors are permitted to enter each lottery once.
