French artist Lucas Beaufort has collaborated with Artoyz Originals on a vinyl art toy of his signature Gus Gus character. A debonair monster with an unmistakable flair, Gus Gus debuts in a blue edition with black cape and hat. He offers a larger red flower to onlookers—perhaps an opportunity to take time to enjoy the beauty that surrounds our busy lives.
Beaufort’s drawings of Gus Gus are line-centric with minimal additional detail. In translating the character into vinyl, Artoyz has chosen solid color deco to highlight the shapes and contours of the character.
An edition of 100, the Gus Gus vinyl art toy (13″) will be available at a release event/signing with the artist on Saturday (3.6) from 11 AM to 5:30 PM Paris time at the Artoyz Paris location (83 rue Saint Honoré / 75001). Any remaining stock will be available online at 10 AM PST (3.6) from Artoyz.
