After months of hard work, Chris Lee’s Mola Mola is about to swim out of the workshop and onto collectors’ walls. Previously seen on a button and a magnet, the artist’s cute Ocean Sunfish character is now a wall-mounted art toy resin piece. Rather than floating on a white wall, Mola Mola travels in style with a colorful Baltic Birch wood mount. The design highlights the real fish’s fantastically flat profile. This fun fish piece is the latest in Chris Lee’s growing line of self-produced, hands-on art toy projects. Mola Mola was sculpted by Dante Rockford with resin prep by Props and Pop.
The Mola Mola Fish resin art toy sculpture (3.75″ x 3.75″ plaque) will be available in seven small-run colorways on Tuesday (2.23) at 10 AM PST from Chris Lee’s online store for $65. Due to the recent VAT changes, the figure cannot be shipped to the UK.
