UK artist Matt Jones (aka Lunartik) has released his new Art of Tea 2 resin art toy sculptures. A follow-up to the original 2012 project, the new pieces feature a cup of tea resin sculpture with a paint brush as an improptu stirrer of sorts. Adding to the impact of the everday-object-as-art concept, the sculpture features a mini pedestal (solid beachwood) complete with art label, similar to what you would find at a gallery exhibition. As a fun bit, collectors have a choice of three brush colors (blue, green and orange). The Art of Tea 2 is the first release and exhibition from Jones’ virtual Tiny Gallery pandemic-era project.
A signed/numbered edition of 35, the Art of Tea 2 sculpture (cup: 1.54” to brush tip, base: 4.72”) is available directly from the artist’s website for £70 ($99).
