Filipino singer and performing artist Jed Madela’s VuDu is a cute, voodoo doll-inspired resin art toy with a simple face ‘sewn’ together with yarn, patches and a button eye. As the sold-out OG VuDu proved quite popular, Madela is set to release the VuDu Orange Mushroom Patch.
The new edition matches the OG edition detail for detail except for the sweater patch which is orange instead of blue. With a convincing burlap texture the new Orange Mushroom Patch figures have the authentic look of a simple voodoo deal crafted by hand and ready to inflict pain with the red-topped push pin.
Produced by RLUX Customs, VuDu will soon be released in several new colorful editions that go beyond the traditional voodoo doll vibe. While VuDu Ice Cold was released as part of Stormy Vault’s recent show (11.6), VuDu Sunset, and VuDu Purple Galaxy are still to come.
