Mighty Jaxx continues its string of Transformers releases with the Lil’ Maxx Transformers blindbox series. The debut release of the brand’s new Lil’ Maxx platform, the series features a mix of populars Autobots and Decepticons including Arcee, Bumblebee, Devastator, Grimlock, Hotrod, Megatron, Optimus Prime, Ravage, Soundwave and Starscream.
The series brings a stylized interpretation to the classic designs with a panel-like aesthetic set off by heavy black lines. This first Lil’ Maxx series keeps things true to the basic platform, though Arcee does have different hands than the rest. Accessory wise, many of the designs include weapons. Interestingly, Megatron’s design seems to incorporate his signature cannon into the arm itself.
In terms of the difficulty in collecting all the designs, this series sits somewhere between collector-friendly series that guarantee a full standard set in a case and those with extremely high ratios. While this series rarest ratio is 1/12, you can expect duplicates. Here’s a breakdown of the ratios:
‘Low Rarity’ (7/12) : Arcee, Devastator, Hot Rod & Ravage
‘Medium Rarity’ (4/12): Bumblebee, Megatron, Optimus Prime & Starscream
‘High Rarity’ (1/12): Electrium Optimus Prime, Grimlock, Megatron (Silver Chrome) and Soundwave.
The Lil’ Maxx Transformers blindbox art toys (3″) will be available for pre-order on Wednesday (9.16) at 6 AM PDT from Mighty Jaxx for $9.99/blind box or $119.88 for a tray of 12. The figures are slated to ship at the end of September.
