The highly-anticipated SpongeBob SquarePants art toys by reggateton star J Balvin x Chicago-based artist Louis De Guzman are set for release at the end of July. Celebrating the 20th anniversary of the iconic Nickelodeon cartoon, the officially-licensed SpongeBob and Patrick vinyl toys are the final releases from the artists’ SpongeBob-focused collaboration.
The new toys feature De Guzman’s signature geometric abstraction aesthetic in dynamic designs incorporating Balvin’s visual style including the lightning bolt eyes. The SpongeBob and Patrick figures bring a fresh interpretation to the characters while retaining their essence.
Editions of 500, the SpongeBob (8″) and Patrick (10″) vinyl art will be released on Friday (7.31) at 10 AM PDT from Louis De Guzman’s online store for $375 per figure. Each figure features a blue Flower Cloud-shaped base. The figures will be limited to the original editions shown here, no additional colorways will be released.
