UK artist DMS continues his exploration with alternative materials with the release of his Stone Dead Mini Skelvex art toys cast in concrete. The latest versions of the artist’s geometric skull figures with angular facets measure 2″ high and are cast in solid concrete. The choice of concrete is interesting. Beyond the obvious fit with the figure, concrete offers a fairly unique experience for collectors accustomed to vinyl or resin figures. Additionally, it has the side benefit that the casting process introduces small variations in each piece, ensuring no two are exactly alike.
The Stone Dead Mini Skelvex concrete art toys are available from the DMS store for £12.99 ($17). These are slated to arrive two weeks after purchase, subject to Covid-19 related shipping delays.
