JPX x LitorsWorks Are Working on a Mechanized Umasou Nong Toy Figure

Previous Next

Thailand-based JPX is collaborating with China’s LitorsWorks on a Mechanized Umasou Nong Toy art toy. The crossover brings together LitorsWorks’ popular Umasou and JPX’s Nong Toy— the Thailand Toy Expo mascot— with a concept centered around Nong Toy’s backstory as a wind-up toy. As seen in a video of a prototype, the large figure features a mecha style Umasou complete with hinged head, spacious cockpit, and a retro wind-up key similar to the one featured on Nong Toy’s back.

The just-released ‘tester’ video featuring a cut-away animation showcasing the intricate inner workings of the Mechanized Uamou is impressive and intriguing. Since the construction revealed here is considerably more complex than the previously revealed prototype, it seems likely that the video is part of the new crossover’s back story rather than a literal preview of the toy to come. Right…?

As we wait for JPX to reveal more of the crossover project, we can’t help notice that other than the wind-up mechanism connection, Nong Toy is so far absent from both videos. Perhaps we’ll see a Nong Toy pilot in a future reveal.
