Kuro (v.3) by Aditya Wijanarko x Glitch

Indonesian artist Aditya Wijanarko‘s upcoming Kuro (v.3) resin art toy from Glitch was inspired by his experiences growing up in Northern Jakarata. Part of his Barely Legal series and the first leluhur (ancient ones), the 8” toy features a teen growing up on skating and ‘herb’ while finding his way. Rocking unflattering old-school gear, the piece seems to embody the awkwardness of adolescence.

Kuro is a 3D translation of Wijanarko’s striking, signature illustration style. With exaggeratedly large limbs, Kuro takes on the form of a larger-than-life giant. The teen’s passions are on full display here, from his skateboard with a snake on the top and ‘conspiracy’ written in a very familiar red+ white color scheme to ‘420’ and weed symbols emblazoned on his shirt, shorts, and sneakers. The ‘JKT’ on Kuro’s high-tops completes the artist’s look back at his upbringing.

The Kuro (v.3) art toy is available for pre-order directly from Glitch for $190. The figure is slated to ship out in Q2 2020.
