Japan’s Milkboys Toys is offering two new unpainted editions of its popular IT Bear as vinyl kits. Available in both a Japan edition (White Bear + Red Clown) and a Sunrise Edition (Red Bear + White Clown). One of our favorite creepy cute or is that cute creepy sofubi figures, IT Bear has the sweet surprise factor: lift off the head to reveal the pyscho clown underneath and by doing so changing the perception of the toy.
Adding to the fun here is that these are shipped as unassembled vinyl parts (7 in all) which can be used to assemble the figure or left as parts in a bag (how often do you see that?). If you’ve always wanted to build your own sofubi toy, now you can…! As a nice, friendly touch, the kit includes assembly instructions in English.
Limited to 150 pieces each, both IT Bear Vinyl Kits are available for ¥9000 ($82.99) via email lottery running through the morning of Friday, April 17th PDT (7 AM to be safe). To enter drop an email to kenth@milkboy.net with the subject of ‘IT Bear Vinyl Kit Lottery’, list the color you’d like (white, red, or both), your Full Name, Mailing Address, Postal Code, Phone Number and IG Name. Winners will be notified by email without instructions on how to complete the purchase via PayPal. The IT Bears are expected to ship out in late April.
