RoboApe: SKARL from Malaysian artist Cz Blank and inch Lab features a powerful, chunky sculpt with urban vinyl influences. First shown in proto form at least year’s TAGCC in Malaysia ( 6.19), RoboApe has a deceptive design that seems at first to be simply a stylized ape with the tell-tale features including elongated arms and powerful body. A closer look reveals the stylized hoodie and lifestyle/streetwear angle. The enigmatic face sculpt is the draw here, part menacing, part curious.
The debut black + gold edition of RoboApe: SKARL features five points of articulation (waist, arms, hands) and includes a RoboApe Tee. Despite the character’s appearance, SKARL is a curious, friendly sort, looking to meet new species ane xpress his own style.
The RoboApe: Skarl vinyl art toy set (~7″) for a worldwide pre-order on Saturday (3.14) with a suggested retail of $118. The figure will be available direct from iNCH Lab as well as several retailers including myplasticheart (USA), Strange Cat Toys( USA), Ko-Re Ko-re (UK), Toy Station (HK) and more. The figure is slated to ship in Q3 2020.
