HK-based Arctong Toys, the creators of the chameleon-like B1 Spacer art toy, has launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund the production of its first mini series featuring Mr. Anteater. Mr. Anteater Plays Around the World features seven designs (6 regular + 1 chase) featuring Mr. Anteater engaged in challenging pursuits and sports: Ant Terminator (chase), Astronaut, Boxer, Diver, Pilot, Skater and Skier.
Shown in render form, the appeal of this series starts with Mr. Anteater’s unassuming, cartoony appearance with large eyes, a band-aid as a result of all his adventures, removable tail and tell-tale anteater tongue. Rather than simple colorways or deco swaps, each of the seven designs brings Mr. Anteater’s daring pursuits to life in fun, convincing fashion through some mix of accessories and/or design-specific sculpts.
The Kickstarter rewards include packages of 3 blindboxes ($29), six blindboxes ($56) as well as a gold package which includes a full case, the Special Limited Version (Ant Terminator Chase) and a sticker pack for $74. There’s also a special Dark Edition full set of seven figures for $77. Each of these packages offers a savings over the suggested retail of $12/blindbox.
