Dehara Yukinori returns to Giant Robot 2 in LA for the opening of his Sofvi Dismantling II solo exhibition on Saturday, February 22nd 2020. His latest annual show at GR2 is a followup to 2018’s Sofvi Dismantling, which featured deconstructed, rearranged versions of his sofubi art toys. This year’s iteration should see a continuation of the artist playing with his own creations as he makes new ones by swapping heads, limbs and more. With a mix of colors and parts, each figure is more or less a unique art piece, created from production pieces. As part of the exhibition, Dehara will lead a mini sofvi dismantling workshop on Sunday, February 23rd (3 to 4 PM) at the gallery.
