Fools Paradise caused quite a stir when they teased their new Super Fiction vinyl art toy set featuring the 8-bit Princess and Mario recreating the memorable dance scene from the dark, pulpy classic. While many of the brand’s previous pop culture pieces celebrate and highlight the unusual mashups, Super Fiction plays things simply with a subtle treatment. Except for Princess’ crown and Mario’s unmistakable face, the crossover fades into Tarantino’s scene. Less can indeed be more. While bases do break the illusion somewhat, these fit into the concept and are key to the dynamic dancing poses.
Limited to 498 made-to-order pieces, the Super Fiction vinyl toy set is available for pre-order direct from Fools Paradise for $378 (global shipping included). The dancing duo is set to ship in the 3rd quarter of 2020.
