As previously mentioned, Mumbot has collaborated with Strangecat Toys to bring her popular Mossy character to life as a production vinyl art toy. With the release just two days away, we can share photos of the fully-painted production version of the toy, officially named Mossy – The Moss Spirit.
This new vinyl version features Mossy in its natural green color, wide blue eyes, and delicate hits bursts of color on the mushroom and flowers sprouting from its head. The extra plants and leaves growing from Mossy help convey the sense that the character is a thriving part of the natural world. The challenge with Mossy is whether the primary paint application of the moss surface would be nuanced enough to mimic the look of moss at some level. From the promo pics, it does appear that there are lighter and darker shades of green throughout the toy, which helps lend a more organic feel.This may be one of those times when a first-hand view is needed to gauge the toy’s presence. A future flocked edition would be quite welcome.
