Kid Torogi is the first art toy from Filipino-Canadian artist Gerald Gozun Pasion who creates and releases his art under the Dead St. label. Pasion’s art reflects his viewpoint that Death is not to be feared as it teaches one about life. Fittingly, Kid Torogi is a friendly, prankster headhunter. Ridiculed as a child for his lifelong smiling Oni-style mask, Torogi has been overlooked by his peers as harmless.
The OG edition of the resin art toy celebrates the colors of the Philippines’ Flag. The design blends the headhunter concept with an urban vibe. Kid Torogi features a single point of articulation at the neck.
Limited to 30 pieces, the hand-painted OG Kid Torogi art toy (4″) is available for pre-order directly from Dead St. for $70. The figure includes a sticker pack and is slated to ship out in June 2020.
