Turns out Kidrobot had one more reveal up their sleeves for the launch of the Exquisite Corpse Dunny Series. The Fortune Sides GWP Dunny from Igor Ventura x Sergio Mancini features a soulless tycoon decked out in a golden hue. The extremely limited Gift With Purchase figure is essentially the ‘case exclusive’ of old and will be offered to collectors who purchase a full case (24 blindboxes) while supplies last.
Curated by Red Mutucua Studios and CoART Magazine, the upcoming Dunny series is the first to utilize the new modular Dunny which allows parts to be easily swapped in and out thanks to a magnetic head, torso and legs along with plug-style arms (see video below). The series is named after the creative challenge Frida Kahlo and other Surrealist painters enjoyed, which involves painting a portrait on a folded sheet of paper with each artist creating a section (head, torso, etc) without seeing the others’ work.
The Exquisite Corpse Dunny series will be released on Friday, February 7th 2020 at 8 AM PST from Kidrobot’s online store and select retailers. Be sure to buy early if you’re hunting for the Fortune Sides GWP Dunny. Kidrobot has announced that the first 50 people who purchase a case from Kidrobot.com will receive the GWP Dunny. Expect the number to vary by retailer.
