Next up from blindbox specialists Pop Mart is the Dimoo Space Travel series from Dimoo World’s creator Ayan Tang. While space is getting to be a very common theme for art toys, the new Space Travel series—featuring one of China’s most popular characters—ticks all the boxes and manages to push the envelope as well.
As a sign of quality design, several of the standard designs feel worthy of being the chase. Nearly every design has something ‘extra’ whether it’s a vehicle of which there are several, or a translucent helmet in one of several varieties or an unusual, over-the-top sculpt. This may sound obvious, but collectors that love Dimoo or space, will likely be pleased with nearly every design.
With Dimoo being quite popular in Asia, purchasing one of the larger figures can be quite a challenge. Thankfully the minis, in particular this series, make the Dimoo magic accessible to most anyone.
The Dimoo Space Travel blindbox series will be released On March 7th, 2020 in China and is available now for pre-order from myplasticheart and Strange Cat Toys for $11/blindbox. As is the norm for Pop Mart Series, the series features twelve standard designs and one chase (Cosmic Boy with solar system design). A display case of twelve blind boxes features a full set unless the case includes the elusive chase.
