As part of its NY Toy Fair showing, DC Direct is presenting official first looks at several upcoming DC Artists Alley releases including the playful Bat Family vinyl art toy by Patrick Ballesteros. Inspired by the artist’s 25¢ Wonders series of illustrations, the 6″ toy features Deathstroke and a (captive) Robin riding furiously, in place, on a kiddie ride. Fun details abound on this piece, including the ‘graffiti’ scrawled on the base of the ride. Bat Ride was brought to roaring life with sculpting by Brodie Perkins and prototype painting from Michael Cowart. In addition to Bat Family, several other upcoming DC Artists Alley vinyl toys are on display at this year’s Toy Fair including Brandt Peters’ demented take on The Joker.
