Chicago-based Louis De Guzman has collaborated with Nickelodeon and superstar J Balvin on a pair of new officially-licensed SpongeBob Squarepants art toys featuring Spongebob and Patrick. The upcoming toys feature De Guzman’s signature geometric, deconstructed patterns and J Balvin’s influences including the singer’s lightning bolt graphics in the character’s eyes. The figures are the latest additions to the growing collaborative SpongeBob collection which includes the previously released chairs and sofas from Modernica as well apparel and skate decks through Pac Sun and Selfridges. The new art toys follow De Guzman’s well-received Elevate vinyl art toys featuring Springfield’s misunderstood prankster. While an official release date has not been announced, it sounds as if these are getting close.
