222kawaii will release nine separate editions of their Just A Girl resin art toys at the upcoming WonderFestival Winter 2020 in Tokyo, Japan. Created by Japanese artist Aragon in collaboration with China’s Woworks, Just A Girl stands out in the indie, art toy world for its simple, depiction of everyday girls (albeit with a definite anime flair) — no wild colors, no crazy hair, no creatures or critters. Packaged like 3.75″ action figures, each figure is sold in blister + card packaging. The blister appears that it may be the reusable type rather than the old-school glued-on style.
The Just A Girl art toys will be available from booth 5-17-09 at the WonderFestival Winter 2020 (2.9) at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan, just outside of Tokyo, for prices ranging from ¥7000 ($64) to ¥8000 ($73) via lottery. Winners will be drawn at 2 PM.
So far, the figure’s distribution has been primarily limited to Japan and China (via Woworks) with only a few releases directly available to international customers. We’ll keep you updated on future international releases.
