Tik Ka From East has collaborated with Warner Brothers and Soap Studio on the new Free Tweety art toy. As the name suggests, the officially-licensed figure celebrates Tweety’s freedom from his cage and of course his nemesis, Sylvester. The graceful piece carries the artist’s signature East meets West approach with Asian details throughout including Tweety’s flowing feathers that mimic robes, the seated posture, and the golden circular arch as well as the cloud-motiff base. =
Free Tweety can be seen, in part, as a sequel of sorts to Tik Ka From East’s previous Sylvester & Tweety polystone statue/art toy created for Soap Studio’s Get Animated series of artist-inspired Looney Tunes pieces. No longer under Sylvester’s watchful (captive?) gaze, the canary is free to achieve his true self.
Limited to 300 pieces, Free Tweety stands approximately 9.65″ tall and is crafted from a mix of Resin and Metal. Each piece is numbered on the bottom and includes an artist-signed certificate of authenticity. The art toy/sculpture is available for pre-order directly from Soap Studio for HKD980 ($125). The first 100 pieces are slated to ship on January 20th with the remainder shipping at the end of February 2020.
